JOOSD + RODERIK FLOHIL

The two dudes of a next generation have already made names in the selective dutch minimal scene. the crowds of bla bla, rotzooii, raak and rockit know them well for the cheerful minimal vibes, housy warmth, and surprising turns. they graciously steer through the night, riding on the good vibes. back to back this time, they'll bring the world in sync.

The unusual title of the album “Skip-Ij” refers to music that is not defined by a particular period and has the ability to skip through the ages. Inspired by uniting people all over the world through the love of music, State of Bengal created an album that transcended through culture and has fused together music from all over the world to produce a new sound.

“Skip-Ij” is the musical creation of Sam Zaman, the man behind State of Bengal who produced and recorded the album over a period of 3 years in his very own living room in East London. The album contains collaborations and contributions from traditional and contemporary musicians and singers from across the globe, resulting in an album with a unique and distinctive vibrant energy to each and every one of the tracks.

Since forming in 1987, State of Bengal regularly tour internationally and have a strong and varied fan base. In addition, Sam Zaman has worked with Bjork, Massive Attack, Ananda Shankar, Jolly Mukherjee and Paban Das Baul amongst many others.
