Combining Carnatic, Hindustani, jazz, folk, electronic, and drum'n bass, Vivek Rajagopalan creates rippling sound-scapes that are edgy as much as international. If world music today is a melting pot of cultures & genres, then Vivek's music is a drop of spicy red curry in the concoction.

Two hands and fathoms of music - that's Vivek .Befriended the Mridangam at 7 under Guru Shri T.S.Nandakumar's keen supervision; Grew up on Palakkad. S. Mani Iyer, Karaikudii Mani Iyer, and Trilok Gurtu; Married music a few years and handful of awards (collegiate, state, et al) later. 

In 1996, Dinshaw Sanjana took a young Mridangam player to the world: The International Jazz Festival - Thailand, saw Vivek brace the stage alongside some of the most talented jazz musicians from across the world. "A crash course in confidence building", that's how Vivek recalls the journey.

Lucky Ali brought to light a completely different perspective: experimental, and a tad crazy. Experience came early: with sessions and live concerts with much-respected musicians from India and around the globe.

For the Common Wealth Concert Tour in 2002,he was proud to share the stage with Shri,Courtney Pine and other respected musicians from Common Weatlth Countires.In 2003, Bugge Wesseltoft,Shri,Per Martinsen ,Dhruba Gosh and Vivek together performed at the Jazz Yatra in India as RAGATRONIK.In the following years the band toured in Norway ,France and recorded an album which is still under production.

With all the above experience came a realization: good music comes from the mind, great music from the soul.

Today, Vivek has succeeded in creating a niche for himself even in the usually ultra-commercial ad jingle circuit and has "Mumbai Calling ",a British sitcom to his credit.
He also conducts a team buliding module for corporates, using Rhythm concepts under the name "RHYTHMINC" .
