KARDES TURKULER | Booking for Benelux

Existing as part of the Boğaziçi Performing Arts Ensemble, the Kardes Türküler project works within the world of music to emphasize the fraternity of peoples. Performing the folk songs and dances of Anatolia, Thrace and Mesopotamia in their original languages, and paying special attention their own cultural contexts, the group expresses the hope of living together in fraternity in a region with many different cultures.

The Kardes Türküler Project also has within its scope to conduct research on the songs and dances of the many peoples, of Anatolia and its surroundings, with their different languages and beliefs. The resulting compositions, while based firmly on traditional songs and forms, are performed within the project’s
own approach to arrangement. Kardes Türküler is both a concert and dance-music project.
